Greenland Dreams - expedition will cross Greenlands icecap during spring 2015. Team will depart from Tasiilaq area and finish at Qasigiannguit. Around 720km from east to west coast to coast, around 660km on skies and 60km on foot. Crossing will take approximately 35-40 days.
Our exact starting point depends on the ice situation and other things, we try to do a genuine coast to coast crossing without helicopters if possible. Its hard to say before we know how the winter goes on the starting area.
Greenland Dreams is a to man operation. Lauri Hilander and Olli Häkkänen are a duo that tries to cross the glacier, set starting date is 16th of april. Hopefully they arrive to goal during last days of may. Expedition operates on unsupported & unassisted priciple, all gear, food and fuel is hauled on sledges from start to finish by themselfs. No kites or outside assistance used.
